Facing the Frontlines

His career spans both the private sector and military service, culminating in his recent Army retirement as a Major (O-4) and Senior Defense Counsel for the entire North Carolina Army National Guard. Jason served nearly 15 years, with 4 years of Active-Duty service.

During his military career, Jason served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the North Carolina Army National Guard. A highlight of his service was his role as Policy Officer for the Army National Guard’s Special Victims Counsel (SVC) program from 2016 to 2018. While serving in that post, he drafted and implemented critical policies for the Army National Guard SVC program and contributed to Congressional reports given to Congress, like the NDAA. In addition, Jason was the lead instructor annually at the Fort Liberty Base Tax Center; over those four years, he instructed hundreds of Army Soldiers on tax preparation so that they could in turn become certified and then prepare tax returns for other Soldiers and their families and Veterans.

Knowledge Drives Excellence

Jason earned his law degree with honors (cum laude) from the University of Dayton School of Law, and furthered his expertise with studies in government procurement at the George Washington University School of Law LLM program. Jason’s passion for the intersection of tax law and cryptocurrency led him to pursue additional education in blockchain technology at the University of California-Berkeley, and obtain certifications from leading cryptocurrency organizations.
